The Evening Routine Edit
my after work to bed time routine
I love a good routine. I am going to break down exactly what I do starting from when I get home from work up until I go to sleep.
I get home around 4:30pm on most days and I am usually in bed by 9:00pm.
I fill this time with habits that I love.
That make me feel stronger.
That bring me joy and connection.
That help me relax my mind before drifting to sleep.
Just like my morning routine we are breaking down the evening into five pillars…
1. Movement
When I get home, first I put my things away, then I am heading straight into a workout. This is driven by my passion for moving my body. This is my release from the day.
If you have read any of my articles you know I swear by Solidcore, MWH, and FORM. I do a combo of those every single week. They help me feel strong, empowered, and release any stress that I am holding in my body while also clearing my mind. I mean what more could I ask for?

2. Shower & Skincare
I love a good shower routine. I wash my hair about once a week so here is my typical no hair wash kinda evening…
Dry Brush with TSC Butter Brush
Wash body with Nécessaire Body Wash
Wash face with SkinCeuticals Simply Clean Cleanser
Dry face with Skinny Confidential Face Towels
Moisturize body with Nécessaire Body Lotion
SkinCeuticals Emollience Face Moisturizer

3. Fuel
I love cooking, Both my husband and I do. Most nights we are in the kitchen cooking dinner together which I absolutely love. Our dinners usually include a protein, starch, and vegetable. Tonight we had ribeye & filet, these fries, and sautéed broccoli.
In my articles Nurturing my Body Pt. 1 & Nurturing my Body Pt.2 I go into depth on my evolution with nurturing my body as it has changed over the years. Definitely check these out for more details.

4. TV
I took a big hiatus from TV during COVID. I really put down the remote and dove into all the personal growth books I could get my hands on. This has changed over the years.
I am now mindful of how and what I consume. I know that too much TV always impacts my sleep and never makes me feel good. One or two episodes before bed does relax my mind and is something I enjoy doing with my husband at the end of the day. Another big game changer for me is wearing these blue light blocking glasses. They are a must when having any screen time before bed. I now know how to utilize TV as a tool rather than a way to check out.

5. Kindle
Reading will always have my heart. I love reading. I love learning, growing, and storytelling. This is the absolute best way to fill up my cup at the end of the day. I usually get into bed around 9pm and this is my set up:
All lights off, fan on
Kindle on (with the light super dimmed)
mouth tape on (a must)
Then I read for about fifteen minutes in bed before drifting to sleep. Sometimes if I am having trouble sleeping or if I am feeling anxious before bed I take melatonin to help and it really works for me.

Sleep is so essential.
This is the foundation for your day.
